Chairman OF PPP (Bilawal) Will Contest From Lyari During Next Election

President Asif Ali Zardari declared on Monday that his son Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, who is PPP chairman, will contest coming general elections from party’s stronghold of Lyari.
He made the announcement at a high-level meeting which he presided over at the Presidential Camp Office at Bilawal House, before his flying to Dubai.
Sources said that the meeting also mulled over making Lyari a new district as it reviewed the development works in the area.
Sources said that President Zardari informed the meeting that Bilawal would come to Pakistan in September this year and thereafter will remain in contact with the people and elected representatives of Lyari by holding regular meetings. He would also oversee the development projects and other matters related to the neighborhood , which had remained a stronghold of the party since its inception in 1967. Zardari said that he himself will hold meetings with the people of Lyari as well after two to three months.
Nabeel Gabol, a scion of Gabool family that had been residing in Lyari, is the sitting MNA from the neighborhood. However, after the worsening of law and order, Nabeel Gabool left the area. Nabeel Gabool’s uncle Abdus Sattar Gabool was elected MNA from Lyari in 70s during ZA Bhutto’s first tenure. Benazir Bhutto and Asif Ali Zardari also won elections from the area.
Selecting Lyari for launching Bilawal’s political career is meaningful because it is safe constituency where no PPP candidate has ever lost any election. Though politically safe for the party, the neighborhood is a volatile area where campaigning for elections and meeting the voters door to door would be difficult proposition.
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik, provincial ministers and legislators from Lyari and high officials attended the meeting.
During the meeting President Zardari ordered for formulation of a policy under which compensation and plots would be given to the heirs of those who lost their lives in the violence during three and half years.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the ongoing projects, including roads, sewerage system, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Medical University, flyovers and water supply schemes. President Zardari underlined the need for strict compliance on projects, proper utilization of funds and early completion of these schemes to benefit the people of Lyari. In a briefing on Lyari development package, the president was told that Rs2.8 billion have been spent during last three years.
Meanwhile, President Zardari presided over a meeting to discuss the law and order in Karachi and decided to take a number of steps to improve the situation. It was decided that permanent police posts would be set up in the troubled areas of the city where large number of people lost their lives to targeted killing.
President Zardari directed immediate induction of 40 ACP’s (Armoured Personnel Carriers) which could be used by the law enforcers in the province. The president also directed the Federal interior minister to call more FC troops if need be, besides the one thousand soldiers already called-in recently.
Later, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and Interior Minister Rehman Malik hold a follow up meeting to review the decisions taken in the Bilawal House meeting.

President Barack Obama called on Republican and Democratic leaders on Monday night to reach a fair compromise on raising the debt ceiling to avert a "reckless and irresponsible" national default.
In an address to the nation, Obama spelled out the severe economic consequences of a default or even a credit ratings downgrade resulting from failure to strike a deal on raising the $14.3 trillion debt limit and reducing the budget deficit. "Defaulting on our obligations is a reckless and irresponsible outcome to this debate. We would risk sparking a deep economic crisis one caused almost entirely by Washington," Obama said.
He appealed for compromise to reduce the deficit by $4 trillion and share the burden of cuts evenly across society as the clock ticked toward an Aug. 2 deadline to raise US borrowing authority so the nation can pay its bills.  The deadlock over dueling and divergent debt plans presented by Democratic and Republican leaders, highlighting the ideological gulf in the divided Congress, has raised the risk of a credit ratings downgrade and national default. The stalemate is rattling investors worldwide, sending stocks and the dollar down and pushing gold to a record high, but falling far short of the panicky sell-off some politicians in Washington had feared after weekend talks broke down.
Obama warned that a first default in U.S. history would directly affect the lives of ordinary Americans, because the government would not be able to pay bills that include monthly Social Security checks, veterans' benefits, and government contracts with thousands of businesses. "I have told leaders of both parties that they must come up with a fair compromise in the next few days that can pass both houses of Congress, a compromise I can sign," he said. "The American people may have voted for divided government, but they didn't vote for a dysfunctional government," added Obama.
He chastised some Republicans for insisting on a "cuts-only" approach and opposing White House calls for the country's wealthiest companies and individuals to give up tax breaks.  In his response, the top Republican in Congress, House Speaker John Boehner, reiterated his party's objection to the plan proposed by Obama. "The sad truth is that the president wanted a blank check six months ago and he wants a blank check today. That is just not going to happen," Boehner said.
It was Obama's seventh address to the nation since he took office in 2009. Obama has used previous addresses to deal with major national issues like the war in Afghanistan and the killing of Osama bin Laden

Don Will Expose The Names Of High Ranking Mafia, If Protected

An underworld don, involved in the multi-billion car theft trade in the country, has volunteered to name and expose the powerful mafia players who, according to him, include several police officials, Excise Department personnel, private businessmen and some political figures. But the don fears for his life for which he is seeking protection.  Muhammad Hasan, alias Major Muhammad Hasan, against whom there are more than 100 cases of car theft registered in different police stations of Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad and different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, however, does not trust anyone but Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to make disclosures, which he insists would be vital to launch a decisive crackdown against the mafia.
He also assured that if he was attached with a team of honest and upright police officers by the chief justice, he would help the authorities recover hundreds of stolen vehicles freely plying on the roads of Pakistan. “If I make the disclosure without protecting myself and my family, I would be either killed by the police in a fake encounter or would become the victim of other influential players of the mafia,” he said while conveying the information to a reporter through a source from Jamrud Jail in Khyber Agency where he is presently locked up.The jail authorities, when contacted, confirmed Hasan was in their custody but did not know his criminal background. A jail official said Hasan was handed over to them by the Bara police. However, Hasan said he was a missing person for one year after he was taken into illegal custody by the Hayatabad police and had been recovered only after his family approached the Peshawar High Court.
He volunteers to disclose everything before the chief justice in return to his and his family’s protection from the mafia, whom he termed as “too powerful and too dangerous”.  He has a long list of police officials in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Mardan, Peshawar, Charsadda, etc, who, he alleged, have been or are hand in glove with the car lifters mafia, but he is not prepared to uncover them at this stage. He also knows how and where the vehicles are disassembled or tampered. He is also prepared to unveil the top buyers of stolen vehicles and their safe havens.
Hasan was reluctant to disclose the names of the mafia to the reporter, but assured that he would name each and every player once he was called by the chief justice. When probed, he said the mafia players included senior police officials and other well-connected people. “Disclosing their names at this stage would mean my death,” he said and hoped that the court would protect him and accept him as an approver to eliminate the car-lifting mafia.  Hasan’s criminal record is confirmed by the in-charge inspector of the Anti-Car Lifting Cell, Islamabad, Abdul Majeed, who confirmed that he was one of the leading car thieves of the country. Abdul Majeed said Hasan’s area of operation was the Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He disclosed that initially he was based in Rawalpindi, but later moved to Mardan.
Majeed revealed that in 2006, Hasan was caught by the police and admitted to have stolen 190 vehicles, a large number of which were recovered. Majeed apprehended that Hasan had already been killed in a police encounter but insisted that these were unconfirmed reports.  Hasan, besides approaching a newspaper, has already sent his appeal to the chief justice, interior minister, chief ministers of the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and IGPs of the two provinces. He said he got into this illegal business after he was wrongly implicated by police in a car theft case and was sent to jail where he developed acquaintance with criminal elements, including the car mafia. Hasan said he was recognized as one of the top dons of car-lifting groups in Pakistan and claimed to have been paying two to four million rupees a month to police officials. “I am regarded as a don in this particular brand of underworld mafia. I have escaped several times from police custody, face more than hundred cases, earned a lot of money, toured several foreign countries but now want to expose everyone in this business because I do not want to continue with this life full of sins,” he said, adding by volunteering to help the state to get rid of the car-lifting mafia, he wanted to undo his wrongs and would like to help the people get back their stolen vehicles.
In the recent years, car-lifting cases saw a phenomenal increase and more than 60,000 vehicles were stolen only in 2009 while this number is feared to have increased in 2010. The car-lifting illicit business involves tens of billions of rupees and, according to Hasan, there are parties, which can pay advance money to car lifters and their dons like Hasan for to be stolen vehicles.  He said that without the connivance of the police, the mafia simply cannot operate. He said that despite all precautionary measures taken by the car owners, a car lifter could steal any vehicle within a few minutes. The most reliable anti-car lifting system is the tracker system, which he said is disabled with jammers costing only Rs6,000. He said he had been mostly interested in Land Cruisers, Prados, Lexus, and other luxurious vehicles and claimed that most of the these vehicles stolen from Islamabad was his work.
About the change of his mind, he said that he recently read the Holy Quran, which had transformed him. He said he wanted to leave the underworld, but the mafia would not let him do that. He said he belonged to a respectable family of Rawalpindi, but had been pushed into this evil life by the police.  According to Hasan, the mafia is extremely powerful and well organized. Seeking protection for himself and for his family from no less than the chief justice, he reminded that one of his jail friends, Imran Goga, had approached Chief Justice Chaudhry in 2005 against Adiala Jail official corruption and misuse of power. The chief justice took action and ordered a probe, but later Goga was ruthlessly beaten besides having being attacked with a sharp knife through his fellow jail inmates to teach him a lesson for approaching the chief jusitce. Goga, according to Hasan, received multiple cuts on his body.
The Newspaper confirmed from the  archives the fact that Chief Justice Iftikhar had ordered the Punjab Prisons IG Sarfraz Mufti to submit a detailed report within two weeks on allegations made by Goga, then an under trial prisoner. The newspaper reports said on that occasion Justice Iftikhar had also ordered the IG Prisons to inform the Supreme Court as to why officials of the Punjab Prisons were not transferred even after serving at one prison for 15-16 years whereas, according to the law, prison officials should be transferred every three years.

New York Hotel Maid Speaks Out Against IMF Chief

The New York hotel maid who accused former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn of attempting to rape her said in an interview published on Newsweek's website on Sunday that he appeared as a ‘crazy man’ and attacked her when she entered his room. Nafissatou Diallo also gave the news magazine and ABC News permission to identify her by name. The magazine interview marks the first time the 32-year-old Guinean immigrant to the United States has publicly spoken to the media since she shocked the world with allegations that Strauss-Kahn emerged naked from the bathroom of his luxury suite on May 14 and forced her to perform oral sex.  "I want justice. I want him to go to jail," she said in excerpts from the television interview released on Sunday.  "I want him to know that there is some places you cannot use your money, you cannot use your power when you do something like this," Diallo said.
One of Diallo's attorneys, Douglas Wigdor, told she has come forward to let the world know she is not a "shakedown artist or a prostitute." "She's being attacked  and she thought it was important to put a name and face to her account," Wigdor said.   She also plans to file a civil lawsuit soon, which means her name would become public, he added. It further reported Diallo also acknowledged "mistakes" but said that should not stop prosecutors from going forward. "I never want to be in public but I have no choice," she told, adding "Now, I have to be in public. I have to, for myself. I have to tell the truth.
"Diallo, who Newsweek said had agreed to be photographed for next week's edition, said she saw Strauss-Kahn appear naked infront of her when she opened the door to his suite. He was like "a crazy man to me," she said. "You're beautiful," she reported Strauss-Kahn as saying, and said he attacked her despite her protestations.
DENIES ALL CHARGES  Strauss-Kahn, 62, has repeatedly denied all the charges against him. In a statement on Sunday, his lawyers called the interview a last-ditch effort by the maid and her lawyers to extract money from the former managing director of the International Monetary Fund.
She is "the first accuser in history to conduct a media campaign to persuade a prosecutor to pursue charges against a person from whom she wants money," lawyers Benjamin Brafman and William Taylor said.
"Her lawyers and public relations consultants have orchestrated an unprecedented number of media events and rallies to bring pressure on the prosecutors in this case after she had to admit her extraordinary efforts to mislead them."

Dollar Fell To Low Price Against The Yen In Asia

The dollar fell to a fresh four-month low against the yen in Asia on Monday, dragged down by the impasse in US debt negotiations amid a growing risk of the world's biggest economy defaulting.  The dollar fell as low as 78.12 yen in early trade, the lowest level since March 17 when the greenback slid to the 76-yen range, prompting intervention from Japan and its G7 counterparts. It recovered to 78.36 yen by 0220 GMT in Tokyo against 78.52 yen in New York late Friday. The euro rose to $1.4391 from $1.4357 and to 112.81 yen from 112.69 yen after a new eurozone bailout plan for Greece and other measures were seen to reduce the risk of a flaring-up of the debt crisis.
Attention is now on developments in the US, where Democratic and Republican congressional leaders are divided over how to cut the nation's deficit and raise the debt limit as an August 2 deadline looms.  President Barack Obama met Democratic congressional leaders Sunday, aiming to map a path forward, but no progress was made.
Finance and business leaders have warned that failure to raise the US debt ceiling would send shock waves through the fragile world economy. Obama has predicted a default would trigger economic "Armageddon"."The dollar met with speculative selling against the yen in thin early trading amid uncertainty over the US debt-limit debate," said Sumino Kamei, senior analyst at the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ."Considering the tremendous impact a US debt default would have on financial markets, the main scenario is that Washington will avert default in the end. But fears persist," Kamei said.
Dollar selling is likely to continue even if an agreement is reached, as this would not fundamentally change the reality of growing US debt, Daisuke Uno, chief strategist at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp, told. But the euro is unlikely to get a major lift as there are signs that the eurozone economy is slowing, Uno said."While the euro is relatively firmer versus the dollar amid the US debt standoff, its topside is capped by lingering concern over (the) eurozone sovereign debt problem," Kamei said.
Following the yen's rise, Japanese Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda said he would "continue to closely monitor market movement.

Indian Supreme Court Has Ordered To Provide Cheapest Foods To The Poor

The Indian Apex Court has interrupted boldly in the government governance, administration and preparation of policies for the last one and a half year that is exemplary. The Judges ordered the concerned department to provide cheapest food items to the poor. They also fought against the social sect system.and did not exempted even army chief.  This way judges determined to uproot the corruption from the society.
An important tool the apex court has against the evil is that of" Public Interest Litigation". In India under this law any body (even third party) can sue the government or private company if clue of some crime is found. At present 250 cases of the sort are in the court for hearing.
Last year under the public interest litigation law, a poor Muslim  filed a writ against Manmohin government that it was not providing foods to the poor on cheaper rates. Due to the importance of the case this case directly reached to the apex court. Judges quickly heard the case and ordered the government to supply 50 tons of foods in the poor districts. In addition court also ordered the government to increase the amont of money given to the poor below line of poverty because it was too low. It is worth mentioning that free or cheaper food is provided to those Indians who are living below the poverty line.
During the hearing of the case justice Dilver Bhandari gave remarks that" We can not afford two Indias. On one side government wants to show the world that we have strong economy and on other side millions of hungry and poor Indians are living in famine conditions".      .

Spider Man Arrested

The Amazing Spider-Man' villain Rhys Ifans has been arrested after pushing a female security guard while at Comic-Con to promote the upcoming blockbuster, the San Diego Police Department says.
Ifans, best-known for his role in Notting Hill was said to have become angry on Saturday (Melbourne time) when a member of his entourage was denied entry to the hall where he was due to begin the movie's Comic-Con panel, as they did not have the correct credentials.
The Welsh actor, who "smelled of alcohol", then "shoved" the guard to let them pass through to the hall, a police spokeswoman said. "He was abusive, belligerent and aggressive, and shoved a female security guard," Lieutenant Andra Brown. "He was verbally abusive to all around  security, the police department and the USA."
Ifans, who plays the dual roles of Dr Curt Connors and The Lizard in the film, was allowed to participate in the panel, but afterwards the guard made a citizen's arrest. He was subsequently issued with a citation for misdemeanor battery and was then released.
The San Diego City Attorney was now set to determine whether to pursue charges against the actor. Sony Pictures, which will distribute the latest Spider-Man movie, said Ifans "deeply regrets the incident."

The name of Hamad Bin Hamdan Al Ahyan, a super-rich Arab sheikh who is the president of the oil-rich United Arab Emirates, written on the sand so large that can be seen from the space.
On a sandy island Sheikh Hamad has inscribed what is in effect the biggest graffiti tag the world has ever seen.  The letters were crafted by a crew who worked for weeks to create them. The inscription measures half a mile high and two miles long--and the letters are dug so deep that they form waterways.
His moniker is so big it can be seen from space. The tip of the “H” reaches into the strait that leads to the Arabian Gulf, allowing Hamad to fill the first two letters of his name with water. The “M” looks partially filled as well.
The island that “Hamad” has been inscribed on, Al Futaisi, is said to be entirely owned by the Sheikh and contains resorts, a golf course and horse stables.

A Right-wing Chritian Is Being Questioned For Twin Attacks In Norway

Police said they were questioning a right-wing Christian on Saturday over the twin attacks on a youth camp and the government headquarters that killed 92 people in Norway’s deadliest post-war tragedy.
As harrowing testimony emerged from the holiday island where scores of youngsters were mown down by a gunman posing as a policeman, Norway’s premier said the country would emerge stronger from the “cruel act of violence”. “Never since the Second World War has our country been hit by a crime on this scale,” Jens Stoltenberg told journalists as police searched for more bodies on the idyllic Utoeya island.
Their latest death toll from the island massacre stood at 85 while seven people died in the Oslo bombing.
While there was no official confirmation of the suspect’s identity, he was widely named by the local media as Anders Behring Breivik. According to information the suspect posted on line, he is an “ethnic” Norwegian and a “Christian fundamentalist,” police spokesman Roger Andersen said, adding his political opinions leaned “to the right”. Police commissioner Sveinung Sponheim confirmed that the suspect was a 32-year-old Norwegian who had posted anti-Muslim rhetoric online. Norwegian media reported that the blond-haired Behring Breivik described himself on his Facebook page as “conservative”, “Christian”, and interested in hunting and computer games like World of Warcraft and Modern Warfare 2.
On his Twitter account, he posted only one message, dated July 17, in English based on a quote from British philosopher John Stuart Mill: “One person with a belief is equal to a force of 100,000 who have only interests.”
The attacks on Friday afternoon were western Europe’s deadliest since the 2004 Madrid bombings. While there had been initial fears they might have been an act of revenge over Norway’s participation in the campaigns in Afghanistan and Libya, the focus shifted when it emerged the suspect was a native Norwegian. Police lifted an advisory telling residents to stay home.
But in a sign of the population’s nervousness, police arrested one young man armed with a knife at a hotel outside Oslo where some of the survivors had gathered and Stoltenberg had just arrived for a visit.
According to the NRK broadcaster, he claimed he was carrying the weapon “because he did not feel safe”.
Seven of the victims were killed in a massive explosion which ripped through government buildings, including Stoltenberg’s office and the finance ministry, in downtown Oslo.
It is thought that the bomber then caught a ferry to nearby Utoeya wearing a police sweater. On arrival, he claimed to be investigating the bomb attack and began opening fire with an automatic weapon after beckoning youngsters towards him.
Witnesses described scenes of panic and horror among the 560 people attending the youth camp. Some who tried to swim to safety were even shot in the water. Among the wounded was Adrian Pracon, who was shot in the left shoulder. Speaking to  a TV network from hospital, he said the scene on the island was like a “Nazi movie”. “He was shooting people at close range and starting to shoot at us. He stood first 10 meters from me and shooting at people in the water,” he said. “When I saw him from the side yelling that he was about to kill us, he looked like he was taken from a Nazi movie or something. “He tried everyone, he kicked them to see if they were alive, or he just shot them. Stine Haheim, a Labour party lawmaker who was on the island at the time of the shooting, said that the gunman had carried out his killings methodically. “He was very calm. He was not running, he was moving slowly and shooting at every person he saw,” she said. “We just jumped in the water and started swimming.”
Norwegian police said they feared there could also be explosives on the island. According to a spokeswoman for a farm inputs cooperative, the suspect bought six tonnes of fertilizer  which can be used to make bombs. In May  “We sold him six tonnes of fertiliser, which is a relatively standard order,” Oddny Estenstad told AFP. Stoltenberg had been due to give a speech on Saturday to the 560 people attending the youth camp on the island, organised by the ruling Labour party.
As he visited some of the survivors, the prime minister spoke of his own anguish at the massacre on an island to which he was a frequent visitor. “Many of those who have died were friends. I know their parents and it happened at a place where I spent a long time as a young person... It was a paradise of my youth that has now been turned into hell,” he said.
Stoltenberg said he had been deeply moved by speaking to youngsters who had told him they swam to shore, in some cases helping friends who had been shot.
He said Norway must ensure that the attacks does not undermine the fundamental values of its society.
“We are an open society, a democratic society, we are a society where we have a very close relationship between politicians and the people.”
There was widespread international condemnation with US President Barack Obama saying the attacks were “a reminder that the entire international community has a stake in preventing this kind of terror from occurring.”
Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II also wrote to King Harald V of Norway to offer sympathy over “the dreadful atrocity”.
The Norwegian capital is a well-known symbol of international peace efforts and home to the Nobel Peace Prize.

Copper is the essential  constituent of modern electronics. Therefore, its demand is worldwide. At present copper is available at a rate of $9000 per ton and it would go as high as $11000 /ton during 2013. Zambia has seventh largest reserves of copper in the world and it is fourth regarding copper production. During the 1970 th decade 0.7 million tons copper had been excavated , today too Zambia exports 0.8 tons copper to western countries so that they keep the industrial wheel running but what the Zambians are getting?
Fifty years back the demand of copper was low and Zambian government had low income from copper. The rulers had been getting loans from IMF and World Bank to fulfill their expenses luxuriant livings like the rulers of third world countries and the load volume reached to $6.3 billion in 1995. So on the pressure and threats of IMF and World Bank Zambian government initiated privatization plan the same year.
How the privatization process was carried out, its glimpses can be viewed in the article published in Newyork Times in 1996.  The article says that under the pressure of  International Institutions, government terminated all the plans started for poor masses like subsidy on food items. Every thing of the government taking from old diesel engines to heavy industries were presented for sale. Within 2 years all the 282 government factories were sold. World Bank took its credit because government itself did not interrupt.
Under this privitization program, the biggest mining company of Zambia and profitable institution Zac Com (Zambia Consolidated Copper Mine) were also sold and and the selling commiitee included 5 American banker of Wall Street. These bankers had been paid by American Agency for International Development.  .

Superstar singer and actress Jennifer Lopez will split with her musician and actor husband, Marc Anthony, after seven years of marriage, the couple revealed to People magazine in a joint statement Friday. "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters," they said in the statement.   The couple had dated briefly in the 1990s and then rekindled their romance in 2004. They were married in a June 2004 secret ceremony at Lopez's Beverly Hills home.
They are parents to 3-year-old twins Max and Emme, who were born in February 2008. "It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time," the statement added.         Also known as J.Lo, Lopez made her leading lady movie debut in "Selena," in 1997, and went on to become a Grammy-nominated singer.
Her first studio album, "On the 6," was released in 1999 and spawned the number one hit single, "If You Had My Love."   Anthony has sold more than 11 million records, kicking off his career as a salsa musician and Spanish-language performer. His 1999 hit single "I Need to Know" was his first English-language crossover success.
This year the 41-year-old Lopez topped People's magazine's annual list of the most beautiful people. After taking time off to become a mother in 2008, the Bronx, New York-born, Puerto Rican actress returned to the public eye earlier this year with a star turn as one of three talent judges on "American Idol." She also released her seventh studio album, "Love?" in April.  She is scheduled to star in next year's film adaptation of the best-selling book, "What to Expect When You're Expecting," which will begin shooting in this summer, according to Lopez's website.
The New York-born Anthony currently plays Detective Nick Renata on the TNT drama TV show, "Hawthorne." According to his website, he will begin a US concert tour in September of this year.   In 2006, the couple co-starred in "El Cantante," a biopic about salsa legend Hector Lavoe. Anthony played Lavoe and Lopez played Lavoe's wife, Nilda "Puchi" Roman. As recently as May, Lopez and Anthony had been scheduled to film a new show together where they would travel to 21 Latin American countries in search of talent, according to People magazine's website.

Do you know that 42 metals are used in making telephone set, similarly 35 are used in manufacturing television and 30 metals are used in manufacturing a computer. Today not only in USA or European countries but the specific metals have gained importance in rising economies like China and India. Because all the electronic and electrical appliances are made up of several metals. This is the reason that companies are in search of new mines of metals/minerals in the world. According to a report every European and American uses metals of  worth lbs 47000, annually. This demand has to be fulfilled by the western mine exploring companies.
Today there are 1800 companies that explore minerals, in the world. Ninety percent of the companies belong to western countries. Actually, these companies work for the benefit of the developed countries.  The majority of the mines of metals and minerals are in African, South American and Asian poor countries. These companies through tactics, corruption, evading the taxes and by force purchase mineral at cheaper rates from poor countries and sell to the richest countries at higher rates. This is the reason that western countries give some financial help to African countries but on the other hand the companies deprive these poor countries of $ 148 billion annually.

Heterosexuals Taking AIDS Drugs Daily Reduce Risks Of HIV

Heterosexuals who take daily AIDS drugs reduce the risk of being infected by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) by nearly two-thirds, ground-breaking studies said on Wednesday.   Campaigners hailed what they described as a powerful new weapon in the three-decade war against AIDS. "This is a major scientific breakthrough which reconfirms the essential role that anti retro-viral medicine has to play in the AIDS response," Michel Sidibe, executive director of the UN agency UNAIDS said. "These studies could help us to reach the tipping point in the HIV epidemic."A trial called Partners PrEP, conducted by the University of Washington, followed 4,758 "sore-discordant" heterosexual couples in which one person had HIV and the other was uninfected in Kenya and Uganda.
The uninfected partner received either a dummy pill or a tablet containing either the HIV drug tenofovir or a combination of tenofovir and emtricitabine. In the group receiving tenofovir, there were 62 percent fewer infections compared with the placebo group. In the tenofovir/emtricitabine group, there were 73 percent fewer infections over counterparts taking the placebo.  The results were so remarkable that safety monitors recommended the probe be stopped early, for to continue it would have been unethical.
The second trial, conducted by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), followed 1,219 uninfected men and women in Botswana who received either placebo or the tenofovir/emtricitabine combination.   Those who received the antiretroviral pill reduced the risk of HIV infection by 63 percent compared with the placebo group. They are the first trials to show that so-called pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP, can work among heterosexuals.
Last November a study, conducted among sero-discordant homosexual men, found a reduction of 44 percent in risk among uninfected partners who took HIV drugs.   In contrast, a smaller-scale trial, whose preliminary results were published earlier this year, found that PrEP did not protect heterosexual women.
In May, a big study conducted among sero-discordant heterosexual couples in Africa showed early use of drugs by the infected partner slashed the risk of transmitting HIV to the other partner by 96 percent.   Put together, these trials add massively to the argument that the world's AIDS pandemic can be slowed by wider distribution of antiretrovirals, said activists. "These results are tremendously exciting and confirm that we are at pivotal period," said Mitchell Warren, executive director of US advocacy group AVAC. "Now is the time to include ARV-based prevention in national plans, applications to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria and donor priorities."We need ambitious pilot and demonstration projects to guide programmatic design, along with national and international guidance on how best to use ARVs (antiretrovirals) as lifesaving prevention tools," he said.
The International AIDS Society, which is hosting a major conference in Rome from Sunday, said data from the two trials was "compelling" and "adds to the cascade of evidence."   But it also highlighted the looming debate about using drugs designed for treatment in the role of prevention.
Antiretrovirals are the famous "cocktail" of drugs, first introduced in 1996, that helped turn the tide against AIDS. They suppress HIV in the body but do not eradicate it completely. As a result, they reduce the risk of infection through contact with body fluids, although they are not a cure and taking them can carry inflict toxic side effects. In addition, there is a potentially hefty financial cost if the pills are taken daily for prevention, although the price has fallen to as little as 25 US cents per tablet. The "treatment as prevention" strategy has risen alongside male circumcision as new options in the global HIV/AIDS pandemic, which has claimed around 30 million lives over the past three decades.
More than 33 million people are living with the AIDS virus, according to estimates for 2009 released last year by UNAIDS.

Genes That Keep One Slim May Cause Heart Attack

A research published in British journal reveals that are responsible for keeping  the people slim may cause heart attack or type II diabetes, while these diseases are considered commonly due to obesity.
The study conducted by Medical Research Council and published in "Teacher Genetics" shows that genes called IRS 1 lower the fat under the skin but do not minimize the fat that is around the body parts like heart and liver. During the study 7600 individuals were observed and it was concluded that the number of  men were more having this problem. The researcher Dr Ruth Luze says that it is not for the fat people having the problem but thin people could suffer though they think themselves to be safe from the heart attack.
Doctor Line Frame Director Research of the Charity Diabetes UK says that 20% of the people who have normal weight why suffer from diabetes, the reason is that they have IRS 1 genes.
Professor of British Heart Foundation Jermy Pereson is of the view that problem actually is not that how much you are obsess but is that whee you are fat and which part of your body has more fat. The fat under the skin is not as dangerous as it is around any vital organ of the body..

Sharp Decline Occur In The Ratio Of Female To Male In India

Rural India has experienced a sharp fall in the ratio of female to male children, new census data shows, indicating sex-selection technology has reached even the country's remotest areas.
India's villages house just 919 girls for every 1,000 boys under the age of six, reflecting a massive decline from the 2001 ratio showing 934 girls for every 1,000 boys, according to figures released Friday,
The data was seen as confirming fears that villagers are now using cheap and portable ultrasound technology easily available in India's cities in order to carry out illegal sex-selective abortions in favor of the male child.
"Earlier villagers had to go to the city to get a sonogram," Poonam Muttreja, executive director of the non-profit Population Foundation of India. "Today sonographers are going into the villages to cater to people who want sons," she told.
The ratio in urban India, at 902 girls per 1,000 boys, is worse than in the countryside but the drop from 906 girls in 2001 is much smaller than the steep fall seen in the villages.
The national ratio, 914 girls for every 1,000 boys, is at its lowest since India's independence in 1947 and compares with a global average of 1,050 girls for every 1,000 boys, figures released earlier in the year showed.
Married women in India face huge pressure to produce male heirs who are seen as breadwinners, family leaders and carers when parents age. Girls are often viewed as a burden in traditional families as they require hefty dowries to be married off.
India has a long history of female infanticide of girls suffocated, poisoned, drowned or left to die.
More common now, thanks to technological advances, is the abortion of female fetuses, or "female foeticide" a simple, cheap and difficult to police process with ultrasound tests costing as little as $10.
Brinda Karat, senior member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), told the recent decline in rural India was "not at all surprising".
"Once the preference for a son becomes the dominant preference in a society, it affects all sections of society right across the board," she said.
As many as half a million female foetuses are estimated to be aborted each year in India despite the practice being banned in the country, according to a 2006 study by British medical journal Lancet.

The medical journal "Launsay" published a report about the study of diabetes that shows the double number of diabetes patients after 1980 in the world. The disease is commonly known as sugar.Under the joint research of Imperial College London and Howard University America, statistical data of  2.7 million patients were collected for observation through the latest statistical techniques. The number of fatal kind of diabetes patients has increased from 1.5 million to 3.5 million. The authorss suggest better diagnosis and awareness among the people to control the rise in the number of patients. One third women in the Marshal Island are suffering from the disease. Majid Ezzati of Imperial college says that diabetes is widely spreading in the world. He added that it needs immediate diagnosis, loss of weight and awareness among the people otherwise this disease will keep on being a burden on health system.
Researchers say that the kidneys can be damaged due to due to high level of sugar in the blood or blindness may occur, it can also affect heart and can cause paralysis.  In the research type I and type -II diabetes were studied and it was found that majority of the patients were suffering from type -II disease. This type is related to life style and obesity. Among the developed countries the disease is wide spread in the USA, where it is less in European countries. The expenses on the medicines for the treatment of the disease amount to Lbs 22 billion in the world and that are likely to rise to as high as lbs 30 billion by 2015.The number of patients in Britain is lower  though but doctors warn the people to be careful about it. According to a charity organization type -II is on the rise in Britain due ro obesity and at present 0.8 million people are suffering from the disease but they unaware of it.

China Shows Displeasure Over Dulai Lama And Obama Meeting

China on Saturday asked US President Barack Obama to revoke his decision to meet the Dalai Lama and not to "interfere in Chinese internal affairs", foreign ministry spokesman Hong Lei said.   After the White House announced the meeting to be held Saturday, the ministry and the Chinese ambassador to the United States lodged a "solemn representation" against it, Hong said in a statement on the ministry's website.
Beijing calls on Washington "to immediately revoke its decision to hold a meeting between Obama and the Dalai Lama" and to "honor its serious commitment that recognizes Tibet as part of China", the statement said."We are firmly opposed to any foreign politician meeting the Dalai Lama in any form whatsoever," it said, warning the US administration against any action that "could harm US-Chinese relations".
The White House made the announcement late Friday after a long silence on whether Obama would meet the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader, who was to leave Saturday after an 11-day visit to Washington to lead thousands in a Buddhist meditation ritual.   The visit comes at a delicate moment in relations between the two Pacific powers, with rising tensions in the South China Sea between Beijing and five other countries in the region that also lay claim to strategic waters there.
The White House said Obama would "highlight his enduring support for dialogue between the Dalai Lama's representatives and the Chinese government to resolve differences".   The Dalai Lama, who enjoys wide popularity in the United States, has lived in exile since 1959. The Nobel Peace Prize winner, a declared pacifist, says he is peacefully seeking rights for Tibetans and accepts Chinese rule.
But Beijing insists that he is a "splittist" bent on dividing China and regularly protests his meetings overseas.

Take Dry Fruits, Fresh Fruits And Vegetables And Decrease Weight

American researchers team found that taking fibrous food as dry fruits, fresh fruits , curd and vegetables help in reducing weight. Researchers at Howard School of Public Healthsay that eating this kind of fruits leaves less room for fat bearing foods.
A study conducted on 120000 individuals and observed for 20 years was published in New England Journal of Medicine revealed that the potato chips and fried foods are more responsible for increasing weight.Taking these food items daily for 4 years will increase weight by 31 pounds. The same problem will occur in the individuals taking crisps, sweets, beverages, and meat.
Individuals taking foods like curd, fruits and complete cereals are less likely to gain weight. Those people taking more curd will lose 0.37 kilo and taking more vegetables will lose 0.1 kilo weight.
According to professor of Howard University, the benefit of fiber in these foods is that the desire for taking foods having more calories and fats, is decreased. So collective intake of energy is lessened. As these foods have high fibers so get digested in longer time and your desire to take more food is lowered so result would be decreased for gaining weight.

Love Letter Delivered After 53 Years

A love letter written to a U.S. college student in the state of Pennsylvania and proclaiming "love forever" was finally delivered 53 years late. But the tender note penned in 1958 still waits in the mail room at the California University of Pennsylvania as officials search for its intended recipient, Clark Moore, who now about 70 years old and living in another state, according to university spokeswoman Christine Kindl.
The letter, sent from Pittsburgh and postmarked February 20, 1958, arrived in the mailroom last week, Kindl said. "No one here has any idea why it was delayed," she said.
The letter had been addressed to Mr. Clark C. Moore, then a junior at the university, which was known at the time as California State Teachers College, she said.   It included a return address, but little other information about the sender, who signed the letter, "Love Forever, Vonnie.""It's very much the same type of letter that students today might write to a boyfriend who's away at college," Kindl said. "She ends by saying, 'I still miss you as much as ever and love you a thousand times more. Please write me real soon.'"The university hopes to deliver the letter to Moore and has received a few tips on his possible whereabouts, she said.

Why The Gold Prices Have Risen?

Once purchasing of dollars was considered to be a safe investment. Therefore, governments as well as common man used to purchase dollars out of his savings and cosidered himself to be a lucky one.The country that had foreign exchange reserves in dollars would feel proud ( like Pakistan). But the situation is changing due to the weakening economy of the USA and its huge debts, the dollar is losing its value. Resulting which the countries having dollar foreign exchange reserves are worried. These include China ($ 2 trillion and 622 billion), Japan ( $1 trillion and 96 billion), Russia ($ 483 billion), Saudi Arabia ($ 465 billion), Taiwan ($ 387 billion), Brazil ($ 290 billion),  India ($ 284 billion), South Korea ($ 274 billion) and Hongkong ($268).
When the news of weakening of dollar spread around the world, the economists are suggesting the governments as well as common people that it is possible that dollar may remain simple  piece of a paper, so better to invest the savings  in precious metals like gold and silver. When the demand for gold and silver increased their prices touched the sky. It happened with in 2-3 years.
Russia has purchased 50 tons more gold, recently, even the international financial institutions like IMF and World Bank are purchasing gold, instead of dollars. They rightly thinking that if USA's economy collapses  it will drown them too. Last year China had $ 3 trillion, but it purchased during 2011 worth $ 400 billion. China , Russia and India are transferring their foreign exchange reserves into other currencies.  China has a problem that USA owes its $ one trillion. So it is taking such financial steps to save its present dollar reserves. Otherwise, if dollar values decreased to its lowest level its dollar reserves will be zero. So , USA is a Titanic that will drown many others if it sank itself. USA has real state crisis too.so in many countries people are investing in property instead of dollars.  China is trying to to have its own currency the status of international currency because if alternate currency come into being USA can be declared as a defaulter state, easily.. At present world is forced to tolerate weaker USA economically..

PENTAGON Lost 24000 Files Due To Cyberattacks

US Defense Department lost 24,000 files to "foreign intruders" in the spring in what appears to be one of the most damaging cyberattacks to date on the US military, a top Pentagon official acknowledged Thursday.   Deputy Defense Secretary William J. Lynn III, who disclosed the March breach during a speech to roll out the Pentagon's new cyber strategy, said the files were taken from a defense contractor. He did not say who was believed to be behind the attack or describe the nature of the files that were stolen.
But Lynn said that, over the past few years, all manner of data has been stolen, some of it mundane, some of it concerning "our most sensitive systems, including aircraft avionics, surveillance technologies, satellite communications systems, and network security protocols.""It is a significant concern that over the past decade, terabytes of data have been extracted by foreign intruders from corporate networks of defense companies," Lynn said.
The Pentagon's vast networks are believed to be the subject of malicious probing every day, but it is often difficult if not impossible to determine the identity of an attacker.

Inquiry Against 12 Indian Army Officers And 39 Soldiers In Sexual Abuse Cases In Congo Launched In Meerut (India)

The Indian Army has launched a court of inquiry against 12 officers and 39 soldiers involved in cases of sexual abuse while they were deployed as UN peace keepers in the strife-riven Congo.
According to KMS, The inquiry is being held in Meerut in Uttar Pradesh where the officers and soldiers are being questioned to conclude if they had sexually abused local women and also fathered children while on a UN peacekeeping mission in 2008.
The court of inquiry is headed by a brigadier, with two colonels as its members. The sexual abuse emerged after DNA tests commissioned by the UN on the children born to local women in Durla in the Congo showed they had distinctive Indian features. The UN wrote to Indian Army requesting further investigations, with the latest reminder coming in August 2010. In January, the army asked its Chandimandir-based Western   Command to order a court of inquiry and it was constituted on May 24, 2011.
An Indian Army official underlined that there were some allegations and the investigation was underway and added that the army headquarters had received an inconclusive report from the UN.
The regiment, in which the officers and soldiers were serving, was recalled from Congo and attached to the Western command headquarters.

USA spends Half Od Its Budget On Social Security

The United States started social security plan in 1935.Its aim was to help poor, sick, needy, sick , needy, elders, unemployed, orphans, widows, and homeless people. Today it is the biggest social welfare program in the world. Several sub- institutions are running under this plan,  these include Medicare, Medicaid, Food stamps, unemployment allowance, and Old Age Pension Scheme. At present half of the budget of American government is spent on these programs.
These programs are no doubt beneficial and important , but still it has some negative side not on the part of government but the beneficiaries. Many unemployed people when get allowance at home doing nothing so why should they work, so  they even do not try to get jobs, and making excuse of no jobs enjoy the allowances. Another benefit they get is when they reach to the age of 60 years they have the right of Old Age Pension. In addition, the increasing number of unemployed and elders the burden falls on social security budget and government has to get loans to fulfill the requirements of the plan.
Therefore, republican party is of the view that government must reduce the funds for the program then they will favor the limit the increased of internal debts.  They say that government must inform the people that it can not afford the expenses of all the deserving people under social security allowances. But Obama government would never take the risk because it has to go the people for votes in the next election campaign.
in the current budget the maximum funds amounting $ 800 billion have been allocated for two social security programs the Medicare  and Medicaid..  Then come the other sub-units of the program for which $713 billion will be spent.then come thirdly the defense budget for which $700 billion has been allocate. THe total expenditure of USA government will be $ 2.82 Trillion while revenues will be $ 2.17 trillion, this way Government will face deficit of $1.65 trillion that can be a symbol of shattering economy of the USA that may lead to its collapse in near future.

Pakistan Rejects Series Of Recommendations OF ICC

Pakistan’s cricket authorities on Wednesday rejected a series of recommendations proposed by a special task force appointed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) to help put the sport back on track in this country.
Terming a comprehensive report prepared by ICC’s Pakistan Task Force as a ‘scholarly exercise’, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) urged for a more ‘Pakistan specific’ blueprint from the force that includes a number of leading cricketing personalities.
In a lengthy statement issued on Wednesday, PCB questioned the credibility of the report saying that the PTT members did not even care to visit the country before finalising it.
“The entire report has been prepared without PTT ever visiting Pakistan (except for a brief chat of a few hours that David Richardson had with a few ex-players during his visit to Karachi in January 2011 or perhaps some input to PTT from Ramiz),” said the statement referring to Ramiz Raja, the former Pakistan Test opener who is a PTT member. “This raises serious questions on the observations given in the report,” said the statement.
According to a PCB official, a detailed response to the 38-page PTT has been sent to the ICC.
The PCB has raised serious objection on the PTT’s move to question political interference in the Board, claiming that unique circumstances in Pakistan justifies it.
The PTT report had expressed reservations on the authority of the President of Pakistan in appointment of the Chairman PCB and members of Governing Board.
PCB’s response states, “The circumstances in Pakistan are unique and cricket administration requires and deserves government support without which international cricket may not be able to return to Pakistan. Keeping in view the extraordinary security situation in the country, having the President as Patron of PCB adds tremendous value and comfort.”
PCB also believes that the PTT should do more about reviving the iconic Pakistan-India series instead of just talking about the importance of the event. “Whereas the Indian government issued favorable statements regarding resumption of cricketing ties between the two countries, but it seems that BCCI is still awaiting formal signal from its government in this regard. We feel that perhaps PTT/ICC should have taken a lead role in ensuring that all bilateral tour commitments are honoured by India vis-‡-vis Pakistan. We do not have anything to suggest on record that PTT/ICC made any efforts to engage with BCCI or the Government of India in this regard,” said PCB.
On PTT’s observation regarding role of Mike Brearley and Greg Chappel, PCB states, “while we appreciate that Mike Brearley and Greg Chappell were made Ambassadors to support Pakistan cricket, we are yet to observe any endeavors from their side. Although with their standing in international cricket, they could have gone a long way in supporting cricket in Pakistan. We still welcome them to come to Pakistan and expect that they will now play a proactive role in supporting return of international cricket in Pakistan.”
The PCB has also rejected PTT’s criticism over selection matters. In its report, PTT suggested that the national selection committee should be independent. “Regrettably, PTT did not meet the Chairman of Selection Committee to get his views. The process of selection is such that the selectors finalise a team which is sent to Chairman PCB for his formal approval.
In case there are any queries with regard to any player, the same is sent back to the Selection Committee for their comments and it is entirely up to the Selection Committee to finalise the squad. They in fact sign the final squad before submitting the same to Chairman PCB for his formal approval. “We therefore feel that the recommendations of PTT that Chairman PCB has the right of veto are not based on facts. The process of selection is a time tested one and has worked for Pakistan. It ensures that there are proper checks and balances in selection matters. The view that there is interference in the selection matters is therefore factually incorrect devoid of reality and henceforth rejected.”
PCB has also disagreed with PTT’s proposal that the national selection committee should have more say in the appointment of team captain. “We respectfully disagree with this recommendation. In Pakistan the system of selecting a captain is different. No reason has been given by PTT in support of its recommendation that Selection Committee is the best judge of who the captain of Pakistan should be? If this recommendation is based on what other countries follow it may not work for Pakistan. Again the authority to nominate the captain has been delegated by the Governing Board to the Chairman.”
The Board also shrugged off PTT’s suggestion that Pakistan should appoint a regular manager, stressing that such a move won’t work in Pakistan. “These recommendations are probably given by PTT as ‘best business practice’ rather than Pakistan specific. To our knowledge, there are other countries that nominate managers on tour-by-tour basis and the system works well for them. Same in the case with other support staff who is appointed by the Boards. In the absence of any plausible argument in favor of change, such recommendations cannot be accepted nor implemented.”
Commenting on the PCB response, Board chief Ijaz Butt said: “I am grateful to the PTT for their work. While the intent cannot be questioned, few discrepancies can be identified in the report, which PCB consider duty-bound to rectify. I wish to reiterate the assurance of ICC to us that recommendations in the report are not directives to PCB and that it is entirely up to PCB to accept and implement these. Having consulted members of our Board of Governors, we decided to send a detailed response to ICC. I hope that it will be taken in a positive spirit.”

Tokyo Shares Were Flat By The Lunch Break Wednesday

Tokyo shares were flat by the lunch break Wednesday after recovering from early losses over global concerns about the deepening eurozone debt crisis, with a strong yen dampening sentiment.   The Nikkei added 0.89 points or 0.01 percent to 9,926.81 by the break, while the Topix index gained 1.73 points, or 0.20 percent, to 858.92.
With the euro under pressure, the safe-haven yen's appreciation makes Japanese exports less competitive in foreign markets and reduces the value of firms' repatriated overseas earnings. Gains in oil-linked shares offset exporter losses Wednesday, said dealers.
While exporters were under pressure, the overall market should avoid big selloffs, said Hideyuki Ishiguro, investment strategy supervisor at Okasan Securities.   The yen's rise prompted Japanese Finance Minister Yoshihiko Noda to address local media, calling the trend "one-sided"."I would like to continue to carefully monitor the market today," he said, without indicating any plan to intervene in the market to drive down the yen.
The euro continued to be buffeted by eurozone debt worries, with the latest blow to the single currency coming from Tuesday's move by Moody's Investors Service to cut Ireland's credit rating to junk status.    Europe's woes have dominated investor attention globally amid fears debt contagion would spread to Italy and Spain, respectively the eurozone's third and fourth-biggest economies, and trigger a cascading crisis in world markets.
Overnight, US shares dropped on the eurozone worries, with the Dow Jones Industrial Average off 0.47 percent. The single European currency was at $1.3995 against the dollar in Tokyo trade, from $1.3975 late in New York Tuesday, and at 111.20 yen from 110.75. The dollar was at 79.45 yen, from 79.25.
Exporter stocks were mixed, with Nikon down 3.38 percent at 1,797 yen and Canon off 0.79 percent at 3,765. Sony added 0.32 percent to 2,143 yen. Inpex was up 2.05 percent at 596,000 on gains in US crude.
Mitsubishi Electric rose 1.09 percent to 927 yen and Toshiba gained 0.97 percent to 416 after a European Court Tuesday annulled fines imposed on both companies by the European Commission for participating in a product cartel.

The Oldest Pyramid Of Ecypt Has Been Saved

The oldest pyramid of Egypt has been saved from collapse through use of large airbags which have been used to prop up the ceilings.  The 4,700-year-old pyramid has been stabilised so engineers can carry out permanent repairs.
The huge structure was built as a burial place for Pharaoh Djoser, a warrior who reigned in the third dynasty for 19 years but has been damaged in an earthquake.
The historic pyramid was feared to be so unstable that no-one has taken on the challenge of securing it in the last 19 years. Peter James, a former Royal Navy lieutenant-commander who served in the Falklands War, has won a £1.8 million contract to carry out the repairs.

Royal Couple May Have Twins Next June

Kate Middleton and Prince William are such a fairytale story it seems like nothing could go wrong and it seems like it won’t. Hollyscoop talked to Celebrity Astrologer Terry Nazon who told us that the Royal couple truly are a match made in royal heaven.
“Do I think they are soul mates? Absolutely. Are they in love? Absolutely. Is he so attracted to her? Absolutely. Does she do it for him? Absolutely,” Nazon tells exclusively to the interviewer. Nazon tells media person, “I think this year there’s going to be an announcement that they’re going to have a baby. It could be as soon as the first week of August or it could be in October. I think definitely by June of 2012 we’ll have little princes or princesses.”
Nazon even thinks there could be a double surprise for Kate, “I can’t rule out twins for her, I can’t rule that out.”

Information Department Issued Hand Written Apology Instead Of Mirza

A hand-written apology issued by the information department and peoples’ media cell stating that Senior Vice President of Pakistan Peoples’ Party Sindh Dr Zulfiqar Mirza has apologized over his remarks,  It was reported reported Thursday.
According to the statement, the statement given on Wednesday was based on personal opinion and he did not intend to hurt the sentiments of the people. Therefore, owing to the reaction by MQM, he said that he is apologizing if his remarks have hurt any one.  He said that Urdu speaking people are like his brothers and will always be. He said that they have also sacrificed at the time when Pakistan came into being and our ancestors gave them shelter at the time of migration. Since then, we are living like a family, statement added.
Statement issued by peoples’ media cell stated that Mirza’s remarks were personal and it has nothing to do with the party policy.
This is second time when Zulfiqar Mirza put his party in very awkward position by giving statement against MQM. He must create patience and save the energy of Rahman Malik who has to run from Islamabad to 90 for reconciliation. This time the comments were too harsh and personal, it does not suit a politician to go furios.

India Got Chance To Blame Pakistan

Three bombs rocked crowded districts of Mumbai during rush hour on Wednesday, killing at least 21 people and injuring 113 others.   India has remained jittery about the threat of militant strikes, especially since the November 2008 attacks which killed 166 people.
At least 113 people were wounded on Wednesday and preliminary reports showed the death toll had risen to 21 in the "terror attacks" centred mainly on Mumbai's jewellery trading centres, a senior government official said."This is another attack on the heart of India, heart of Mumbai. We will fully meet challenge, we are much better prepared than 26/11," Prithviraj Chavan, the state's chief minister, told a TV channel, referring to the 2008 attacks.
Home Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram also said "terrorists" were to blame. "The blast occurred at about 6.45 pm (1315 GMT) within minutes of each other. Therefore, we infer that this was a coordinated attack by terrorists," Chidambaram told reporters.
At least one car and a motorbike were used in the coordinated attacks believed to have used improvised explosive devices, officials said.   "This tactic is much more in line with those used by more amateurish groups such as the Indian Mujahideen who have targeted crowded urban areas before," Stratfor, a strategic affair think tank, said in a statement.
Television images showed blaring ambulances carrying away the bloodied people at one of the attack sites. Other images showed bodies lying among glass and metal debris in narrow streets.   At the Dadar area in central Mumbai, one of the explosions left car windows shattered and uprooted electric poles. Police used sniffer dogs to look for clues while the public helped paramedics carry away some of the injured.
JEWELLERY MARKETS   The biggest blast occurred at the Opera House, once housing operas and now an area selling diamond jewellery and a hub for diamond traders in the city.
"We came outside, and the area was filled with black smoke. There were bodies lying all over the street, there was lots of blood... We saw many bodies missing arms and missing legs," said Aagam Doshi, a local merchant and witness said.   "We began helping get the wounded on to motorcycles of diamond merchants...There were diamonds lying on the road everywhere."
Another blast, also in south Mumbai, was at the Zaveri Bazaar, India's largest bullion market.   The third blast was at Dadar, in the centre of the city, near the main railway tracks."When I heard of the blast, I tried to call because I knew he was in Dadar. Next thing I know someone picked up the phone and said he was admitted to KEM (hospital) so I came here," said Rinku Vishwakarma, whose husband carpenter was injured in the Dadar blast. "I have no idea how badly he is injured. I'm looking frantically for someone to help.
"OBAMA OFFERS HELP   U.S. President Barack Obama strongly condemned the attacks and offered support to bring the perpetrators to justice. Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani swiftly condemned Wednesday's blasts in a statement.
The home ministry ordered security heightened across the country.
India has got a chance to blame Pakistan like previous Mumbai attacks One of the official of home ministry has already blamed Lashkar e Tayaba and held it responsible that is indirect blame on Pakistan with in half an hour of bthe blasts. While, our coward authorities do not dare to name the culprit who is the enemy known to every Pakistani. This is the fear of USA too. It may have been conspiracy of India and USA to encircle Pakistan , gather forces on eastern border and punishe Pakistan for its recent disobedience.   .

Aamir's Delhi Belly Led To Protests Against Its Dialogue And Content

Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan's new film has been a hit at the box office but has also led to protests and even a court case against its dialogue and content, which critics say is vulgar and offensive.   The comedy "Delhi Belly", starring the actor-producer-director's nephew Imran Khan, revolves around three, scruffy, debt-ridden room-mates who unwittingly fall into a life of crime with a mafia boss.
The film, which is mainly in English with a profanity-peppered dialogue and toilet humor, had by Monday taken a total of 487.5 million rupees ($10.9 million) since it opened on July.    But with India as a whole still a conservative place, not everyone is happy. On Monday protesters stormed a cinema in the western city of Kolhapur, forcing a screening of the film to be canceled.
Another theatre was attacked in the central city of Indore following action by a right-wing Hindu organization that called for the movie to be banned for having too much abusive and vulgar language.   Even in India's more liberal entertainment capital, Mumbai, a complaint was filed in court, accusing Aamir Khan, who has a cameo role, of showing "obscene" acts and outraging and insulting religion or religious beliefs.
Industry analysts, however, have said the film has aroused public interest as it was a reflection of young people in modern, urban India.

Corruption In Pakistan Touches The Figure Of Rs. 3000 Billion----Transparency

While Pakistan has greatly compromised its independence for the sake of a few billion dollars of foreign aid and corruption is rising at an alarming rate, the Transparency International has revealed that during the last three years of PPP rule, the menace has cost the nation more than Rs3,000 billion only in selected areas.   Transparency International Pakistan (TIP) Advisory Committee chairman Adil Gilani told The the reporters on Tuesday that these corruption figures do not include the loot and plunder of the national wealth in the mega scandals like Pakistan Steel Mills scam, NICL plunder, Haj swindle, rental power plants fraud and many more.
The trends of surveys and studies conducted by the Transparency International Pakistan show gradual increase in corruption in Pakistan during the last three years, Gilani said and added this fact could be confirmed from the country’s ranking in TI Corruption Perception Index. “Conservative figure for last three years are more than a trillion rupees per annum with 15-20 percent annual increase,” Gilani said.   He said that the height of corruption in Pakistan during the last three years could be judged from its position sliding down from 47th in 2008 to 42nd in 2009 and 34th in 2010.
The TIP executive explained that in 2009, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) corruption was at least Rs500 billion as per the statement of the then finance minister Shaukat Tareen whereas the state enterprises like PIA, Wapda, Pakistan Steel Mills and Railways eat up Rs300 billion of taxpayers. In 2009, he explained that the TIP reported the increase in corruption in the last three years by 400 percent and quoted the figure of Rs195 billion in 2009, which increased to Rs225 billion in 2010 as the money that went in petty corruption.   The total corruption in the above three categories alone, according to Gilani, makes the figure of corrupted money over Rs3,000 billion during the last three years.
Gilani clarified that these huge corruption figures do not include the massive corruption in the land department and government procurements in entities like National Highway Authority, Oil and Gas Development Corporation Limited, Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Limited, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited, Karachi Port Trust, Port Qasim Authority, Civil Aviation Authority, National Insurance Corporation Limited, Pepco, Erra, SVBP, NBP, CDA, Ministry of Defence, Defence Housing Authority, National Logistics Cell, PSO, PNSC, Cantonment Boards, etc.   Like most political parties, independent media, civil society and other stakeholders, the Transparency International’s local chief too is unsatisfied with the government efforts to curb corruption. There is a general perception that the government, instead of checking corruption and taking measures to curb this menace, is protecting the corrupt while the anti-corruption apparatus like the FIA and National Accountability Bureau have been disfigured by the government to the advantage of the corrupt and plunderers of national wealth.
Leading economists and financial experts are of the firm view that if corruption is effectively checked in Pakistan, the country would not require any foreign aid, including from the US. Only recently Washington, which is fully aware of Islamabad’s financial mismanagement, has stopped $800 million in defense aid as it expects from Pakistan to do more.   It is believed that Pakistan could not get itself free from foreign pressures and dictate unless it generates enough resources to meet its expenses for which corruption-free society is considered a must. However, the PPP government did not show any interest during the last three years to root out corruption and take measures, which are essential to stabilize the country’s economy.
In the present scenario, media and superior judiciary in general and the Supreme Court in particular are fighting against corruption but the government, instead of supporting them, violates the apex court’s order, uses every trick to avoid fair investigations and prosecution in corruption cases and puts all possible pressures on sections of independent media that are not siding with the rulers’ corruption and misrule.

A Unique Exciting Game Played In Northern Areas Of Pakistan

The king of games, polo is an expensive and dangerous game , therefore the number of its players is very less as compared to in other games. In Gilgat -Baltistan, where football and cricket players are in thousands, only 100 players are there for polo. The game played in Gilgat is free style though but during playing the game, to maintain discipline, to solve any dispute, to select man of the match and best horse, rules and regulations have been formulated  For all this a jury and judge perform their duty.
Polo teams consists of 6 players each, while one is extra. If any player is declared unfit 10 minutes before the  the game begins, jury allows another player to play.  After passing this time or during the play, if any player gets unfit, no other player is allowed to play and the player of another team of the same number has to go out and teams play with 5 players each. Similarly, if other player is injured or unfit then four players will play for each team. This rule will apply if other player is injured or gets unfit.  If during the match any horse gets injured or unfit, replacement or changing of horse is not allowed.. The team scoring 9 goal first will win. If none of the team score any goal, one hour extra is given and the team scoring highest number of goals will win. If the score of both the teams is equal extra time is given and decision of the winner is announced on the basis of "Golden Goal" In the final match the score of nine goal does not apply.but final match spreads over one hour duration.  If any of the player catches the ball during the match and gets entered into the goal, thisis declared a score of goal.
This year Polo tournament (Spring Blossom Polo Festival) was held during May/June 2011 under the auspices of Sports, culture and tourism department. Twenty two polo teams participated in the tournament.
