Dr Abdi Included Among The Best Women Of 2010

  Dr Hawa established a scool in her tentage village where 800 girls and boys are being educated.. Though the school rooms arenot enough for the number of students but inspite of difficulties the ecucation is continued with zeal.Along side the education in school , adult education is also going on and women are taught the sewing , methods of cooking foods hygienically The village has turned into refugee camp where 90000 displaced persons because of civil war in Somalis are living safely.  Mostly are the women and kids whose fathrs and husbands have died in war or those whose men have left for jobs to other countries. Dr Hawa is managing all the things in the camp and her two doctor daughters Dr Deequ Muhammad and Dr AmAmna are now helping their mother while son of Dr Hawa died in a road accident. She requested many philanthropist organizations for help but they do not want to enter Somalia and declared it the most dangerous country of the world..  Though Dr Hawa have experienced many ups and downs in the path of kindness and welfare of her poor community but the incident that took place  on a hot day of May two years back was too tragedic. When a group of nearly 750 fighters broke into her camp and took Dr hawa on gun point and started damaging the hospital and its equipments and were asking why are you running this hospital?  They were unaware of the situation that Dr Hawa was doing welfare job and providing health and education facilities to a large number of people. She said whatever they  liked to do but she  would not close hospital. She asked them that what they had done for te society being young and healthy. The commander could not reply. They made hostages Dr Hawa and her assistant for 5 days during which large number of women came  that were carrying sick and weak kids in their laps for treatment they were abusing the intruders.  The commondar ofthe fighters realized his mistake and asked DR hawa to carry out her work . But she said they will have to apologize for their deeds in written. After some time the commander apologized in written and left the camp.  She can not seek the help of government because there is nothing like government machinery  in Somalia.  She had added more land to the farm and has handed over to women to grow vegetables to sell in the market she also purchased smaller boats for them.  She is doing a wonderful job . Dr Hawa has been included on  the best women for 2010.
